Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I learn about your fees and packages?
Please reach out to me so that I can confirm if I am available and provide a custom quote for you based on what you’re envisioning. You can send me a message through the contact form on my website, or check with me on my instagram (@truetoyourharp).
I reached out to you but didn’t Hear back?
I usually respond to requests within 6 hours, and definitely within 24 hours! This is true even if I can’t perform for you. If you haven’t heard back from me, please check your junk/spam folder, or nudge me on instagram.
There’s a song that we would love for you to play, but I don’t see it on your website. Can you learn it?
Likely yes! There are two factors to consider before we decide if it’s a go.
First, it depends if I can find sheet music for it. Most songs can be adapted to the harp. If I can find basic piano/violin/guitar sheet music for it, I can usually write a pretty good harp arrangement for you. If I can’t find any suitable notation (and this is rare), I may have to charge an additional fee (on top of a new music fee) to transcribe by ear and then arrange. This is because it takes a lot more time to transcribe than to arrange from pre-existing sheet music. The fee will always be custom depending on the length and complexity of the song, and I will let you know so that you are in charge of the decision before we move forward. Thanks to the power of the internet and the skills of musicians all over the world, I needed to resort to transcribing by ear only twice in 2021, and once in 2020.
Second, it depends on how much time we have to your event. The farther away your event is, the more likely that I will be able to turn around a custom arrangement or learn a new piece for you. Usually I ask for three months notice. If we have less than three months to your event, I may have to charge a fee depending on complexity and volume of requests. The fee will always be custom depending on the length and complexity of the song(s), and I will let you know so that you are in charge of the decision before we move forward.
As a policy, I will not begin transcriptions or arrangements without a confirmed booking.
How Many Songs do We need to Pick?
Just the ones that you would like during your wedding ceremony! This means the wedding party processionals, bridal/groom processionals, any ceremony rituals (e.g. vows, candle lighting, ring exchange etc), and your “I-do” and kiss/recessional moment. I take care of all your pre-ceremony and post-ceremony (i.e. cocktail/appetizer hour) music, so that’s one less decision that you need to make. See my weddings page for more information.
Can you hold a date for us?
I book on a first-come first-serve basis. A booking is considered confirmed when a deposit has been paid and a service agreement has been signed. I am unfortunately unable to hold a date without a deposit and service agreement.
Can you Travel?
Yes! Please reach out to me so that I can confirm if I am available and provide a custom quote for you based on where you would need me to travel. You can send me a message through the contact form on my website.
Is harp music appropriate for my event?
Depends on what your event is! Reach out to me and we can discuss what you are envisioning, and I’m happy to advise.
Do you accept last-minute Events?
Yes, pending my availability and the nature of the event. Please note that bookings with less than 24-hour notice need to be paid in full before 8 a.m. on the morning of the event.
